The April UTA Men’s Monthly Ranking tournament tipped off on the 22nd of April to 27th April at the Lugogo Tennis Complex, with a reduction in the number of players to nine.

The acceptance list ,missing out on some injured top draw players players Mawa Saidi and the former runner up for the month of April Frank Tayebwa.

Troy Adrian Zziwa, surprisingly made  light work of his more senior opponent Ronald Nasawali by 6-1,6-0 in the semi final to progress to the final against David Oringa.

Troy Adrian Zziwa impressed with a top performance despite losing the final.

David Oringa, 31, successfully defended his title at the Monthly Ranking Tournament for the month of April 2025 against Troy Adrian Zziwa who lost with scores of 6-1,6-4.

Oringa showcased his experience and Davis cup credentials on the court, losing only a number of games on his way to defending the title.

Smile ear to ear: UTA Vice President, Mr. Daniel Kyazze hands over a dummy cheque of UGX 400,000 to David Oringa.

With this victory, David solidified his position as a top player in Uganda and also the men’s ranking in the World Tennis Number system. The Uganda Tennis Association also awarded him  a cash prize of four hundred thousand shillings.
